There’s nothing like a Baked Brie especially with brown sugar on top. I first discovered this appetizer at a lodge up in Big Bear. It was served to us as a wheel of brie, but I thought how bout trying it with just a slice of brie for two people? After experimenting several times in my own kitchen, I finally figured out how to do it.
The trick is you got to cook the brie for several minutes before you put on the brown sugar.
In a preheated oven at 400 degrees, place the cold brie in for about 4-5 minutes or until it looks like it’s softening in the middle. Next add on a thin layer of brown sugar right on top. You can also put on pecans or anything else you want. Get creative 😉 Then you’re going to pop it back in the oven for another 2-3 minutes until the whole things is melty and soft.
Tip: You can always remove the top of the brie if you don’t care about keeping the shape.
Serve with some french baguette slices cooked in a mixture of brown sugar and butter. Than slice up an apple.
Brie always makes me think of the holidays and you really can’t go wrong with it. There are so many recipes both sweet and savory. I just saw one with sauteed mushrooms that looked amazing!
