I used to love those little strawberry shortcakes made from mini dessert cups growing up. We used to have them after our summer bbq’s. So today I am going to revamp this summer classic using grilled bananas and maple syrup for a simple gourmet dessert. You’re gonna love these! ♥
Banana Shortcakes (servings 4)
- dessert cups
- 4 ripe bananas sliced
- tablespoon butter
- 2-3 tablespoons of real maple syrup
- whip cream
- powdered sugar (optional)
In a fry pan heat up some butter. Place the banana slices down in an even layer.
Cook for 3-4 minutes until golden brown on one side and flip. Drizzle in the maple syrup.
Heat through and spoon over dessert cups.
Spoon on some whipped topping and then spoon on another layer of banana’s.
If you really want to get fancy top with some powdered sugar. 🙂
The warm bananas melt the whip cream and…well you’ll just have to try them yourself.
