I’m taking poppers to another level stuffing them with cheesy orzo – topping them with cream cheese and sharp cheddar cheese.
These will not skip a beat and will be oh so satisfying.
- jalapeno poppers
- cream cheese
- sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 cloves of garlic (chopped)
- 1 shallot (chopped)
- 3/4 cup orzo pasta (cooked)
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup sharp shredded cheddar
- 1-2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
In the same pot you cooked the pasta add a tablespoon of butter. Saute the shallot and garlic until translucent and golden brown. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a slow rolling boil. Turn down the heat and add the cheese stirring gently. Shake in some Worcestershire sauce and salt to taste.
Next take the jalapeno and slice like you would a baked potato. Scoop out the inside and all the seeds. Then spoon in the cheesy orzo pasta and place on a baking sheet covered in tin foil.
Top with a dollop of cream cheese and a piece of cheddar.
Place in a preheated 350 degree oven for 20 minutes.
Crack some fresh pepper over top and serve. 🙂
