I typically blog food recipes, but today I am sharing homemade pumpkin recipes for the face. My friend and I went to an all natural botanical place the other day and got facials using edible ingredients. It was an amazing experience that just made you feel good. So today I am going to give you a taste of that experience with a couple of recipes for pumpkin facials.
Pumpkin contains vitamin C and A. Vitamin C by itself can actually be used on the face, but the pumpkin is the perfect balance mixed with the honey. It feels really good on the skin and I am serious you will have a beautiful pumpkin glow afterward.
Pumpkin Facial w/Yogurt
1 cup canned organic pumpkin
2 tablespoons plain yogurt
1 tablespoon honey.
Pumpkin Facial w/Heavy Cream
1/2 cup canned organic pumpkin
1 teaspoon honey
1/2 teaspoon heavy whipping cream
Mix either recipe together and apply to your face for 15-20 minutes. Rinse with water.
I used the second recipe and substituted the whipping cream for soy milk. Soy milk has some great hydrating qualities for the face and will soothe dry skin.
This is the perfect way to unwind after a busy week with your girlfriends and a glass of wine. So get into the kitchen and get creative. 🙂
