I love LA’s street dogs! They are wrapped in bacon and loaded with grilled peppers, onions, and jalapeño’s topped with a combination of ketchup, mustard, and mayo. There is no cutting quarters on these dogs and today I am going show you how to make your own! 🙂
Amy’s Bacon Wrapped Street Dog
- potato hotdog buns
- Ball Park hotdogs
- bacon (thick sliced)
- green & red bell pepper (sliced)
- 1 sweet onion (sliced)
- 1 jalapeño (seeds removed & sliced in half)
- mayo, yellow mustard, ketchup
First you’re gonna want to wrap these baby’s up. Make sure to wrap one slice of bacon around the dog securing both ends.
*Tip: You can also use a toothpick to keep the bacon in place.
Next, you will place the hotdogs into a grill pan on medium heat rotating every 5 minutes.
In a fry pan, grill up the peppers and onions in a tablespoon of butter. Place the peppers in first since they take longer to cook up. Keep the jalapeño separate since it is extra spicy.
Once the bacon is a crispy golden brown your dogs are done! 😉
Place the dog into your favorite bun. Place it on the grill like a teepee until it has some light grill marks. Load them up with peppers, onions, and half of the jalapeño pepper.
Lastly, drizzle the hotdog with a thin line of each condiment: yellow mustard, mayo, and ketchup! Yumm…
And there you have it – an LA street dog that will melt in your mouth!!
